Her story is one of resilience, passion, and authenticity—proving that success isn’t just about titles but about the impact one leaves behind. In this interview, she opens up about her defining moments and her vision for the future.
As someone who has achieved incredible milestones in pageantry—such as placing in the Top 10 of Miss Planet International 2024 and winning Miss Planet Asia and Miss Global Asian—what has been the most defining moment of your journey so far?
For me, the most defining moment was making it to the Top 10 of Miss Planet International 2024, standing alongside 70 incredible women from around the world, each representing their own country. Being part of such a prestigious global stage was a huge achievement, and it truly solidified my belief in myself.
In addition, being recognized as Miss Planet Asia and winning the Miss Global Asian 2024 title were moments that filled me with immense pride. These titles allowed me to showcase the beauty, strength, and resilience of Asian women on a global platform. But beyond the glamour and competition, it’s the connections I’ve made, the lessons I’ve learned, and the way my perspective on life and purpose has deepened that have made these experiences truly impactful. This journey has taught me that success is as much about the process as it is about the destination.
Pageantry often extends beyond beauty—it’s about advocacy and influence. What message or cause has driven you the most during your reigns, and how have you used your platforms to make an impact?
One of the causes closest to my heart is mental health awareness. Having experienced the pressures of both pageantry and personal life, I understand how vital it is to care for your mental well-being. I’ve used my platform to raise awareness about mental health, encourage open conversations, and remind others that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. My goal is to help reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and inspire others to prioritize their emotional and psychological well-being.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, when I had more time, I dedicated myself to learning practices that nurtured both my mental and physical health. As a certified Yoga Teacher (RYT 200 from Yoga Alliance) and CMT 100, I focused on courses and techniques that emphasize mental stability and overall wellness. These certifications have become an integral part of my life, intertwining with my journey in pageantry.
Having experienced both the highs and lows of pageantry, what advice would you give to young women who are just starting out and hoping to overcome challenges while staying true to themselves?
My advice to young women is simple—pursue what you love and let your passion drive you forward. When you’re doing something that truly fulfills you, the challenges along the way become easier to overcome. When I first started in pageantry, my love for the field kept me motivated, even during difficult times. There will be moments of doubt, setbacks, and unexpected challenges, but these experiences shape who you are and how far you can go. Focus on what excites and inspires you, and don’t be afraid to take risks. Success doesn’t happen overnight, but when you’re working toward something meaningful, every sacrifice and effort becomes worthwhile.
Stay authentic, embrace your individuality, and trust that following your passion will lead you to the most rewarding experiences. Your journey will be uniquely yours, and that’s what makes it beautiful.
Now that you’ve gained significant exposure in various countries, what are your thoughts on transitioning into the entertainment or celebrity space? Is it something you’ve considered pursuing in the future?
Never say never! I’m always open to new opportunities and believe in keeping doors open. With my background in Mass Communication, being camera-shy has never been an issue! I’ve always loved being in front of the camera.
Beyond pageantry, music has been a significant part of my life—I hold a Grade 8 in Piano along with an advanced certificate. Singing and even dabbling in DJing have allowed me to express myself in different ways, and I’m always excited to explore new creative avenues. Acting is another passion of mine, and it’s something I’d love to venture into next.
I’ve also enjoyed modeling, working on campaigns, and serving as a brand ambassador, which has helped me establish a strong presence in the industry. I truly love embracing different roles—whether it’s acting, singing, modeling, or hosting—and I’m always eager for new challenges. If the right opportunity comes along, I’d love to explore singing and acting more deeply, with modeling and hosting as additional ventures.
For now, my focus remains on my career in finance and growing my business, but I’m excited about where the future will take me. Growth comes from being open to different experiences, so I’m always ready to embrace whatever comes next.
After competing in two international pageants, Miss Planet International 2024 and Miss Global Asian 2024, do you have any plans to compete in another pageant in 2025?
I believe in the power of embracing new opportunities and challenges, and I’ve learned that life has a way of surprising you when you least expect it. While I’m immensely proud of my journey so far, I’m always open to what lies ahead. Major beauty pageants have evolved tremendously, and I’m excited by how they’ve become more inclusive, celebrating not just traditional beauty, but the strength, intelligence, and unique qualities that every woman brings to the table. These platforms are now more than ever a space for women to amplify their voices, share their stories, and stand up for what they believe in. Who knows? The future could hold something extraordinary, and if I feel called to compete again, it would be with the goal of representing not just beauty, but the power and potential that all women hold within themselves.
Considering your incredible journey, I’m curious—are you spending Valentine’s Day with someone special, or are you celebrating it in your own empowering way?
Thank you for asking! This Valentine’s Day, I’m focusing on myself, my growth, and all the exciting opportunities ahead. While I’m not currently spending it with someone special, I truly believe that self-love is the most important kind of love. Right now, I’m pouring my energy into my career, personal goals, and building the future I envision. Taking time to celebrate myself, reflect on my journey, and embrace the path ahead feels like the best way to honor the love and appreciation I have for who I am and where I’m going. Who knows what the future holds, but for now, I’m excited to continue evolving and living my best life!
