Jana Marvanová, the dynamic CEO of MJ TOP MODEL, has made remarkable strides in the modeling industry by redefining traditional beauty standards and emphasizing the importance of personality, education, and professionalism. As a model herself, Jana has traveled the world, gaining unique insights and experiences that she brings back to her agency. Her journey to Miss Global exemplifies her dedication and resilience, while her leadership at MJ TOP MODEL showcases her commitment to nurturing new talent and expanding the agency’s global presence. In this interview, Jana shares her thoughts on balancing her dual roles, the values that drive her agency, and her vision for the future of modeling.

As the CEO of MJ TOP MODEL, what unique qualities do you believe your agency brings to the modeling industry, and how do you envision its future growth?

MJ TOPMODEL is unique in that it focuses not only on traditional beauty attributes but also on the personality and diligence of the models. Each of our models must undergo a rigorous selection process, during which they acquire all the necessary skills and education in the field of modeling. They learn not only how to pose and walk the runway but also how to express themselves, react to the camera, engage in marketing, and communicate with employers, ensuring that our models are professional in every aspect. Additionally, we offer the girls an opportunity for education at TAYLLORCOX, so that after their careers or in the event of an injury, they possess sufficient qualifications for other positions, such as project manager. Our future goal is to expand beyond Europe and bring our competition “MJ is Looking for a Top Model,” currently running on YouTube, to television.

Your journey to Miss Global must be incredibly exciting! Can you share some insights into your preparation and how it differs from other modeling competitions?

Miss Global is truly a dream come true for me. It took me three years to make it to the competition. I have participated in competitions before, and I believe I have learned from both my successes and my mistakes, which makes me stronger this time. For a woman and a model, this is a great opportunity to gain attention that can be used for good, and it is also a chance to advance my career. Representing my country is a success for me, and I want to approach it with respect and honor. There is both physical and mental preparation involved, including a special training program; I had to change my walking style, which coach Putrapassarela helped me with, as well as improve my expression. I also enjoy the creative aspect of designing the national costume, collaborating with designers on dresses, and doing photo shoots and filming—this is simply my element. Mentally, I am trying to prepare for everything. But I believe in myself, and I will give it my all.

Modeling has taken you around the world. What have been some of your most memorable travel experiences, and how have they influenced your perspective on the industry?

Whenever I travel abroad, it is an amazing adventure for me. I feel truly blessed that my work allows me to see so many incredible places. Most recently, I was part of Hong Kong Fashion Week, and I absolutely fell in love with the local fashion, working with local designers, and the culture and places themselves. Seeing the Big Buddha, gardens, and temples—I felt a deep connection. However, where I always feel at home is in the USA. So far, I have been to LA, NYC, Miami, Orlando, and Las Vegas, and I believe this is just the beginning.

How do you balance your responsibilities as a model and CEO, and what advice would you give to aspiring models who want to follow in your footsteps?

I would advise every model to stand firm in their dreams, not to give up, and to persevere. Many girls quit at the beginning, but nothing happens immediately; it requires patience. Practice at home, find someone who can guide you. Be cautious of scammers, and maybe try participating in a competition or a course first to see if you truly enjoy it, and don’t forget about education because we women are not just for show. Balancing work is definitely about planning and finding time for yourself; you need to set boundaries so that you don’t work all the time and drive yourself crazy. It’s important to make time for family and friends to recharge your batteries. You must always keep a cool head and have a backup plan, considering what might not work out and preparing for that. Loving my job helps me a lot, and seeing the girls’ successes, especially when they are grateful, always warms my heart. From my perspective, success also means that when you gain something, you should give something back—whether it’s a charitable donation or beneficial work for society. Lastly, I always remember to express my gratitude and thank God.

What are some of the core values and goals of MJ TOP MODEL, and how do you support and nurture new talent within your agency?
This year, regarding MJ TOPMODEL, is a bit divided into stages. During January and part of February, I and some of our models are booked for four fashion shows and a busy schedule of photo shoots and filming. In February and March, I have Miss Global coming up—the girls will continue to work, but I need to be fully focused, so wish me luck. When I return, we will launch the applications for the new season of MJ HLEDÁ TOPMODELKA—which means castings, challenges, eliminations, and the finale. Additionally, the girls will head off to international competitions, and the fashion shows, photo shoots, and film festivals will start again—in short, a lot of work. We are all really looking forward to everything together, and I believe we are more like a family than a team.
