A motivational speaker and fashion enthusiast, Emily Ford centers her philosophy around the elusive “ITfactor” which encompasses one’s true passion, strengths, and uniqueness. She believes that knowing your true core helps to connect with different audiences and potential customers, which is her secret key to an unstoppable business.
How would you define ITfactor?
I would define having ITfactor as leaning into your true passion, strengths and what makes you uniquely you in your personal and professional life. I’ve spent the last 13 years learning how to love and accept myself, which includes the past experiences of my life that have caused me pain and shame, which has led me to heal, which has led me to peace and understanding. I’ve also learned truly what my strengths are and, ultimately, my ITfactor that makes me unique. I have baked that into my brand and everything I do.
How did knowing your ITfactor affect your personal style and daily motivation?
My understanding of my ITfactor has changed as I have evolved in my personal life and career. I grew up in a small town in Minnesota that helped to forge my heart. I bring that to all areas of my life like speaking on a live stage in front of 10,000 people next to Tony Robbins, to train corporate sales and leadership teams on “Leaders Who Have IT.” My transformative method has allowed over 1 million people to not just find their ITfactor, but also implement it into their personal lives to achieve massive impact. I love bringing a unique spin on my style to every photo shoot, interview, keynote speaking engagement – as style speaks before you even get a chance to say anything.
How has stepping into your style influenced your business?
One of my greatest passions, next to being an entrepreneur, is my love for fashion and personal style. I’ve always believed that your style communicates a message to the world, and great style is great art.
I’ve always been into self-expression, which means that a different style is communicated through business collaborations, clothing, scent, art and music.
I am really excited to share some new products I’ll be releasing this fall.
Why is knowing your ITfactor the secret weapon to creating an unstoppable business?
Knowing who you are so deeply and without any doubt, is your greatest superpower. Using your personal life experiences to connect with your potential customers and audience is your unique ITfactor.
Are you working on any exciting projects you’re able to share with us?
I have recently signed with a literary agent and am in the process of writing my first book. It’s a privilege and honor of my life that I can’t wait to share.
You are extremely open about your Faith and love for God. Do you have a favorite bible passage?
I DECLARE Ephesians 3:20 over my life. God will do exceedingly, abundantly above all that I ask or think. Because I honor Him, His blessings will chase me down and overtake me. I will be in the right place at the right time. People will go out of their way to be good to me. I am surrounded by God’s favor.
