In late summer of 2022 on the outskirts of Atlanta, Georgia, Patti stood on stage in a sparkling, periwinkle Jovani gown and held her breath. She was both nervous and excited as she waited for the host to announce the results of the Mrs. USA Universe Ltd. pageant
“So much happens in that moment, so many emotions – you’re hoping your name is called but preparing yourself in case it’s not. You wonder if all the hard work and preparation was enough,” she says. As it turns out, it was. On August 27, 2022, Patti was crowned Mrs. USA Universe Ltd.
“I was in shock. For the first few seconds I just stood there,” she says. “I looked around at my fellow delegates who were all cheering me on and the incredible Suzy Bootz who had this massive crown in her hands and was patiently waiting to put it on my head. It was surreal.”
Produced by Pageant Pros LLC, the Mrs. USA Universe Ltd. pageant serves to celebrate married women who are making meaningful contributions to their communities. Areas of competition include swimwear, evening gown, and a forum presentation where each delegate presents on their respective charitable work, causes, and philanthropic efforts.
A New York City native, Patti originally entered the world of pageantry to fundraise and advocate for the veteran organizations that she supports. As both a veteran of the U.S. Army and a military spouse to a U.S. Naval officer with 22 years of service, military causes are near and dear to her heart. “It’s astounding how much more support I am able to garner for the organizations I champion as a pageant titleholder, than as just myself.”
As Mrs. USA Universe Ltd., Patti’s platform is The Pledge Campaign Against Violence & Abuse – an organization that shines a light on the many forms of domestic violence, assist survivors by equipping them with education, and gives at-risk children and teens value through mentoring. “The Pledge Campaign was founded by our pageant director, Sabrina Pinion. Her tireless work to promote the importance of speaking out against domestic violence is truly inspiring,” Patti says.
In her personal life, Patti is a wife, mom, and seasoned marketing professional. For over a decade, she has built brand equity, crafted public relations plans, and delivered marketing solutions for Fortune 500 companies, emerging start-ups, and nonprofit organizations. Her communications career has covered a broad spectrum – from entertainment, hospitality and food & beverage to insurance, finance, and biotech. She currently serves as the global director of marketing of a multibillion-dollar insurance company.
“I am so honored to represent the United States of America on an international stage. My hope is that the judges see my integrity, authenticity, and desire to uphold what the title of Mrs. Universe represents.”
In February, she will be traveling to Sofia, Bulgaria to compete for the coveted Mrs. Universe Ltd. title.
